Healing
Sliding closer to normality
Sometimes it is harder to feel the numbing blanket fall over my shoulders.
As joy becomes more pure and happiness begins to make sense,
I dance and know that this is me forever.
I am well
My heart is healthy
Life is good and makes sense.
But the thief always returns.
She whispers in my ears, and steals my cloak,
Pokes at my skin grafts - still too thin,
Mirrors my eyes with the darkness welling.
I dive beneath the covers to hide my inadequacies
To hope that next time I'll have more strength.
